Dumpster sizes, and which one fits your job.
A yard is a cubic yard of space. Here is roughly what each size holds, so you can call knowing what to ask for.
10 and 15 yard
Small jobs and heavy debris.
A bathroom remodel, a garage cleanout, a small deck or a shingle tear-off on a modest house. Small boxes are also the right choice for concrete, brick and dirt, which hit the weight limit long before they fill the space.
20 yard
The most common size.
A kitchen remodel, flooring for a whole house, a big cleanout or a larger roof. If you are not sure, this is usually the one to start with.
30 and 40 yard
Construction and whole-house jobs.
New home builds, full gut remodels, commercial cleanouts and big demolition jobs. These are tall, so plan on a door or a ramp for loading.
